Cathy Gonzalez

Board Co-Chair

Cathy is currently co-chair of the Board of Directors for the Youth First Texas.  Professionally, she has worked for over 20 years in the areas of information technology and business management. The early part of her career was spent at the University of North Texas working in Admissions, Registrar’s Office, and Human Resources. After 15 years at UNT, Cathy spent seven years identifying and satisfying training requirements in the corporate telecommunications industry. She traveled internationally working with implementations of enterprise systems for Ericcson, Verizon, MCI, and Intervoice.  Cathy returned to UNT six years ago and is currently the EIS Training, Communications and Administration Manager for the Computing and Information Technology Center. Her supervisory role covers all areas of change management pertaining to the Oracle PeopleSoft enterprise system.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UNT and a Master of Science in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University.

In addition to her staff responsibilities at UNT, Cathy is the program sponsor and lead facilitator for UNT’s Ally Program which ensures UNT is a welcoming and diverse campus.  Home for Cathy is Plano, Texas, where she lives with her husband and two dogs.  At her parish church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, she participates in the group named Outstretched Hands which are Catholic parents who support and esteem their gay children.  Locally Cathy has participated in lobby and training efforts with Equality Texas to support and bring awareness of school safety issues.
